I'm also waiting, hoping for good news on this one. My understanding is that Logitech is very short sighted and not willing to spend time in helping good old costumers.

The question is can this community solve this issue without them?

Michael is obviously in the loop on this, but Pål Bratterud from WiMP has given some positive indications in an internet discussion. Essentially he was saying that they've had FLAC streaming running on a Squeezebox, but (or and, if you will), some work is still needed before its ready for end-customers. He didn't say wether or not this work is ongoing.

So I guess the situation is still uncertain, given the general status of the Squeezebox-product.

Waiting, hoping, waiting, hoping... I would just love to get my Wimp HiFi all digital all the way to my DAC-integrated amplifier through the squeezebox's optical out! Otherwise not much point of going lossless!

It's probably from an article in Norwegian website klikk.no, google for:
    wimp relanserer cd-lyden

In the article product developer Pål Bråtelund in WIMP is quoted as saying (translated from Norwegian by me):
"Squeezebox supports ACC and FLAC, but we deliver MP3 because that's what they want. We do however have a dialogue with Logitech and want to get to the point where we can offer WIMP HiFi and FLAC also to all our customers with Squeezebox"

    Cheers, Robert

Please Logitech get this working.......... and then come to the conclusion, that dumping the Squeezeboxes was a HUGE !!! mistake, and then do a relaunch instead.

And Next up: Spotify can not sit on their behind and Watch this. They have to act too ....... All to the best interest for us musiclovers

I'm writing this just to subscribe to thread...

What about third party plugins? I'm using the Triode plugin for Spotify. How much "official support" does such a plugin need?
