    Sounds plausible.

As far as I can tell I have the permissions correct (the squeezebox user is in a group, the playlist directory's group owner is this group, and it is group writable).

I suspect it's because I have the music directory mounted over NFS. Some research needed I think.

Good news is that now I've correctly created the playlist, the preset button works.

Thanks to all for their help.

Sounds like you're on the right track. I don't know nuthin' about NFS, but I have run into cases in which with CIFS mountings in which you need to make sure that the gid for the group (and uid for user permissions) matches on the two systems. The same may apply to NFS. Or not.

Assign playlist to preset button on Boom(or Radio)

    Hi,

Yeah, userids and gids match between the NFS server and clients. I think
it's something more fundamental. It all worked until I relatively recently
updated the box from a fairly old Openfiler based system to Debian. I
*think* that might have meant a switch to NFS v4, which seems to have
    *stricter requirements for IDs.

As I said, more research needed

    playlists on radio preset

I encounter the same problem. If I press a preset button on a SB radio, only the track which is playing at that moment is stored, not the playlist. The playlists work otherwise fine and storeing radiostations on the SB otherwise works fine.

The server runs on OSX and I seem to have no problems with rights as discussed in this thread. The playlists are stored on the Macs boot device, the music is stored on local disks.

    Ideas?

Highlight the Playlist (don't start it playing), press and hold one of the preset buttons until you get a confirmation. Then press the preset button to start it playing.
