    Effect of Preferred format (e.g. FLAC Hi-Res 24 bits / 96 kHz)

    I wondered how qobuz responds to the Preferred format selection. So, if I have preferred 24/96, but an album is available in 24/192, what happens? Does it mean the album won't show as available, or if an album is available in 24/192, does will it also be available in 24/96, or will it drop down to 16/44.1? Most of my devices will play 24/192, but I have a Transporter, which caps out at 24/96. Just trying to work out the best option where some devices are limited, but qobuz is increasing the amount of 192, so thinking about what's best to do.

    Heureka!

    I think I found my solution. And it seems the proponents for the plugin are right. It works flawlessly now.

    I had my router configured in stealth mode. A ping to streaming-std.qobuz.com gave back an IPv4-address with packet loss of about 25%.
    After switching off stealth mode I sent another ping to streaming-std.qobuz.com which was answered from an IPv6-host at Amazon's cloudfront.net. That's what it should look like!!
    Not to mention there's no packet loss at all!!

    Very relieved greetings from northern Germany,
    happy Jazzlampe

    On the basis that I add albums to favourites via the Qobuz app which allows 24/192 selection but they then appear in LMS even with 24/96 selected as preferred I’d say they definitely aren’t hidden.
    What LMS actually chooses to play though I’m not sure.

    Favorite Artists sorted by Last Name / 2nd word of Band Name

    When I navigate in LMS through Qobuz > My Favorites > Artists, the sort order seems to be alphabetical by last name, which sometimes also results in specific band names being sorted by the 2nd word of the band name (but not always). For example, scrolling through the letter 'B' artists, I see:

    Julien Baker
    Beach House
    Panda Bear
    Belle and Sebastian
    David Bowie
    etc.

    I would love if everything was simply sorted by the first letter of the artist name (whether proper name or band name). So that I would see:

    Julien Baker under 'J'
    Beach House under 'B'
    Panda Bear under 'P'
    Belle and Sebastian under 'B'
    David Bowie under 'D'

    I've searched several times through threads here and the settings within LMS and haven't seemed to find any help. Is this the known/expected behavior? It seems surprising as I have used other control apps (MConnect) that default to sorting by the first letter, so I wouldn't have thought this was a limitation of the Qobuz API...any help would be much appreciated!

    I use Qobuz a lot but I never use the Qobuz / Favourites / Artists listing whereas I use Albums a lot.
    I have OMLI switched on so the Qobuz artists are merged with local files which is where I always look - I’ve never seen the issue you describe looking this way.

    TBH: I have no idea how they sort. My little test list doesn't even make
    sense using your finding.

    {
    favorited_at => "1590899594",
    name => "The Aristocrats",
    {
    favorited_at => "1387519678",
    name => "King Crimson",
    {
    favorited_at => "1387519662",
    name => "Liquid Tension Experiment",
    {
    favorited_at => "1590902760",
    name => "Peter Gabriel",
    {
    favorited_at => "1387519686",
    name => "Tony Levin",
    {
    favorited_at => "1583361174",
    name => "Dua Lipa",
    {
    favorited_at => "1387519631",
    name => "Sting",

    So it's neither date added not really the name (whatever you tweak that
    one). Dua Lipa is totally wrong in that list. On several levels

    I've seen temporary hiccups before. Maybe this resolves itself soon again.

    Well, assuming that your test above is the display sort order you see, it looks very similar to what I observed (which is to say, inconsistent and sub-optimal on which last name / last word it uses to sort):

    "The Aristocrats" > A
    "King Crimson" > C
    "Liquid Tension Experiment" > E
    "Peter Gabriel" > G
    "Tony Levin" > L
    "Dua Lipa" > L
    "Sting" > S

    I had been avoiding the Home > All Artists navigation (even though I use the OMLI plugin as well) because any Qobuz Albums I had favorited would cause those Artists to show up in the list even when that Artist is not a Favorite Artist.

    But I could dump those favorite albums (from non-favorite Artists) into a separate playlist instead as a workaround. Or, I could wait around and see if this is a "blip" from the Qobuz API that will resolve itself

    Oh, you're right, of course... As the others happen to be pretty much
    sorted by the first character (except for "THE Aristocrats" where I
    thought Qoubz was smartly removing "The") I didn't look at it your way.

    Unfortunately I no longer have access to the Qobuz documentation :-(. So
    I don't know whether this is new default behaviour which could be
    changed per request. But it looks wrong to me anyway. Hopefully they'll
    change that again.

    Until then I'll sort in the plugin. Update is on its way.

    Occasional track truncated in Qobuz

    Very (very) occasionally I get the currently playing track truncated on Qobuz and the play skips to the next one. It may be the Qobuz service itself but in case it helps this just happened and the log file contains:
    Code:
    [21-03-10 09:32:16.7210] Plugins::Qobuz::Plugin::__ANON__ (919) Get album (tnnhunwfq6dsa) failed

    You fixed it - wow, that was fast! Many thanks.
