For debugging - can you set plugin.localplayer logging to "debug" and set the flag which says keep the debug option after restart.

Also it doesn't support XP or earlier at present. What windows version are you on?
    win 7 64

here is the output for 3 restarts with local player logging set to debug, there is no localplayer.log file in C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Logs\

nor can I find squeezelite*.* anywhere on my c:\ drive

    Thanks

Could you put "-d all=debug" (without the quotes) into the additional params box of the settings page. This should create entries in the log.

I realise now it needs some debugging options as a menu item. I did have this but removed it to make the setting page easier...

The issue I think though is that you have something already running using the output device.
Okay setting -r 96000 gets it going

But this appears in server settings page

What does the log for the squeezelite instance from local player say - its linked from the settings page?

    Announce: new binaries - 0.9beta2

    New binaries available: http://code.google.com/p/squeezelite/downloads/list

    Two changes:
    - make the -m set mac option work again
    - allow the alsa version to exit if the output device is off

hmm, still no luck, no log file with -d all=debug option. Is there a way to check if it installed ok ?

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it.

    cheers

On windows it will probably be in the (possibly hidden location):
    C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\P lugins\LocalPlayer\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\squeezelite-win.exe

Is there a file there? Is there a portaudio dll alongside it? Can you run it manually?

    I killed the internal squeezelite.

I can stop and start from the settings page.

Getting the log is difficult as it keeps refreshing - this is from the last few lines:

What squeezelite params is it starting with (enable server debugging for plugin.squeezelite) do they look similar to how you are running it manually? - it looks like you need a different output?
