Logitech Media Server behind Proxy Server requiring Authentication

In order to access Internet Radio Strams my Logitech Media Server hast to pass a Proxy Server requiring Authentication.

Is there a knwon way of Logitech Media Server to submit a Username and Password when prompted by the proxy?

Is there another workaround available to achieve this kind of configuration?

    Regards Philipp

Logitech Media Server behind ProxyServer requiring Authentication

We never implemented support for this situation (there must be a really
old feature request in bugzilla though). Are you using the SB in a
situation where you can't modify the rules (eg. workplace)? That's
unfortunate, but most likely your employer wouldn't want you to use it
anyway ;-)? Otherwise you should try to assign a static IP address to your
LMS machine and configure a few exceptions in the proxy.

    Hi Michael,

You're assumption is correct, we use it at the Workplace. There the use of Internet Radio is allowed. The Policy though requires that all traffic towards the Internet needs to be traceable to the respective Source. Using the Browser in conjunction with the assigned Credentials allows to access an Internet Radio Station.
Using a Squeezebox Server would although have added Benefits. One Stream towards the Internet, synching. The colleagues could via their Browsers adjust the volume in the Office. When the PC is taken to a Meeting, the Radio would still be usable for the remaining colleagues, just to name a few.
Sadly configuring exceptions on the proxy is not an option.
We'd hate to have to replace our trusty Squeezebox Touches against some other product like a Noxon, but if it can't be helped we might have to.

    Regards Philipp.

How do you authenticate to your proxy? I have a set of patches in alpha but they are for unauthenticated access.

    Proxy Settings

    Hello,

I have installed the NetShare application on my phone.

I've connected a Raspberry Pi to the Tethered Wifi access point (proxy 192.168.49.1 / Port 8282).

The Pi can do "apt-get update" & "apt-get upgrade" => Connected to internet

The Pi holds Logitech Media Server and Squeezelite.
Squeezelite can be remoted from my phone or from any other connected device and can play music stored on the Pi.

But the server cannot access internet radios or any streaming platform.

Do you know what could I do ?

    Thank you,

Anything interesting in the LMS logs?
You might have to increase log levels to see more.
