another trick, whilst playing is to select the headphone output and then chang back to the line output (but your remote, although much the same as mine, has some buttons disabled).

Cycling through inputs works but not really practical. I also noticed that my single DSD file doesn't play properly. It plays with intermittent breaks when the bitrate display changes from something like 28.2 DSD to 176.4 PCM. That doesn't really bother me too much but is annoying as the same file played correctly on the standard Touch coax output. There are some other kernel choices but I have no idea if it is worth trying them.

I had forgotten you'r using the EDO on the Touch. (and which thread are we on, I ask myself doh!!)

Can you set it up on a pi to try and resolve the problems ?

It should then work OK on the Touch, which will need the DSD Player Plugin

However, I don't understand (2) dsd filter setting. The dac is in 'dac mode'. But I can't figure out the right button combination / sequence to switch the dsd filter setting between 39 and 76 khz

Volume at 100%?: check

Hard reset?: check
Just performed a hard reset as described.

Result: nothing changed.

Since I have changed quite a few settings lately, I checked some more...

(1) I checked the advanced settings for the playback of dsf. It was on and changed it to (I'm not sure if my translation to English is correct in this case..., but since I see this term on more occasions I think it's the right one)
(2) At the music player section, I enabled 'Enable DSD-over-PCM' for the DSD-player.

Result: It works. Partly. Only dsd64 files. And all the flac's.

The automatic Hz change doesn't work. I have to switch to 'coax' (which isn't working) and back to 'usb' to hear music).
And DSD128 and up don't 'work', I mean don't hear music.

Could the latter be a result of an improper 39 - 76 khz setting of the dac?

However, it's a major break through so far!

Hi Edvard did you ever fix the playback issue between different sampling frequencies? I see the same thing. I did find that muting and unmuting the DAC restored the sound slightly more easily than switching inputs but still not satisfactory. I also couldn't get a DSD64 file to play without silent gaps.

That was the first thing I did . I haven't tried coax to the Topping yet. I had this notion that USB was meant to be better.

Just tried coax to the Topping and predictably the sampling frequency issue disappears but my single DSF file doesn't play at all but I think that is a limitation of the coax connection.

Switching to Ethernet vastly improved DSD64 playback. Maybe changing the buffer size would help wireless. So my only remaining issue is no sound when sampling rate changes when using USB which is v annoying.
