Announce: Enhanced Digital Output app -USB Dac and 192k Digital Ouput

    > ALL PLUGIN / APPLET STORED ON GOOGLE CODE WON'T VERY SOON BE ABLE TO BE
    > AUTOMATICALLY INSTALLED (AND UNINSTALLED...), BECAUSE GOOGLE IS STOPPING
    > ITS SERVICE.
    > DEVELOPERS SHOULD MOVE THEIR PROJECTS AND UPDATE LINK BY LOGITECH... (I
    > HOPE IT'S STILL POSSIBLE).

As Triode has not been seen here in a long time I decided to give his
repository file a new home on triodeplugins.herger.net. His work
hopefully will be available through the extension manager, soon again.

    [QUOTE=JII;853294]Hi There,

    Good news and bad news...

    Good news (first)
I found a solution to manually install EDO :
-Active SSH acces on the SBT (Option/Advanced/Remote Connection (or something like that according language)) (if needed)
-Open a SCP connection (default log: root / default pass: 1234 , with the good and opensource WinSCP by example (https://winscp.net/) )
-Make a new directory named EnhancedDigitalOutput in /usr/share/jive/applets/
-Copy the content of https://storage.googleapis.com/googl...utput-v0.8.zip in this directory
-Optional: Don't forget to deactivate SSH access (if you don't want to keep it activated)
    -Reboot the SBT

What do you do, basically, if you don't understand any of these instructions?

This is a bit of a dirty "how to", you will have to work out some of the navigation yourself as I don't have much time to spare on this.

    On a windows pc.

    download and install

    https://winscp.net/

    download to the pc

    https://storage.googleapis.com/googl...utput-v0.8.zip

    On the Touch navigate to

    Settings/Advanced/Remote Connection

    and enable SSH.

On the pc open winscp, fill in the log in page and click on Login.

    Name: winscp.jpg

Size: 140.9 KB

There will a screen with two panes, on the left your PC and on the right the Squeezebox Touch.

    On the rhs navigate to

    /usr/share/jive/applets/

    and make a directory called

    EnhancedDigitalOutput

On the lhs pane navigate to the downloaded zip and copy the contents across to the new folder

    Name: winscp2.jpg
Views: 581
Size: 169.8 KB

-Optional: Don't forget to deactivate SSH access (if you don't want to keep it activated)

    -Reboot the SBT
Or you can wait and try the usual manner of installing EDO once MH has completed his plan

    which might be soon

Thanks Van Man. This makes sense. All I need now is to make i-player work again and we'll be in clover.

If that is the BBC iPlayer plugin, post your query in the appropriate thread. Someone will help.

    192/24 skips/pauses

has anyone had to troubleshoot skips playing 192/24 music? anything lower than that 176/24, 96/24 just fine with no problems... only all my 192/24 music is skipping. I am using Jolida III DAC via SPDIF which supports 192/24, an all wired setup (no wireless) and just a single squeezebox (so no transcoding).

    thanks for your time...

Are you using optical or coax SPDIF - Optical is not guaranteed to work at 192k especially from the touch (only designed for 96k).

try using coax if you can to see if this is the problem.
