    iTunes playlists with slimserver

Isn't there a way to setup itunes so that you don't
have to manually copy the .xml and .itl files to the
Slimserver music folder? I thought that by changing
the itunes music folder location the files would move
as well, apparently this is not the case. Is there a
    way to force this?

The reason I want to be able to do this is so
playlists will be available via Squeezebox immediately
    after they are created.

Please tell me I'm missing something simple!

Running Slimserver on Red Hat 9.0, itunes on WinXP
with Slimserver music folder mapped to a drive letter.

seems to be an itunes bug, for several versions. I guess apple doesn't see it
    as critical enough to fix.

you could do what I do.

i have my home directory shared through samba. in Windows, I used tweakUI to
set the "my documents" folder to a folder under my shared home directory
(m:\Documents). Then, when itunes installed, it put the xml file in there. I
then created a link from my music folder to the xml file. You may have to tweak
a few permissions, but it seems to work ok for me. However, I'm not regularly
    changing itunes playlists.

I use Hymn to remove the protection from files I buy from iTunes so that I
can then convert them directly to MP3 and store them on my Linux box where
they are instantly available to my Squeezeboxes.
