This unit used to work wonderfully; it's apparently a setup issue - can anyone advise?

    Thanx Jeff,
I have this software on an XP PC. Would this be for the W-10 PC?

What have others replaced their SliMP3 devices with? For me, this coupled with a Bose Wave Radio / Acoustic Wave was a wondrous and semi-portable audio solution.

    Appreciatively,
    Myke

Between SliMP3 server and XP - the s/w is about 10-15 years old so it is unlikely an update caused the problem and installing latest software is unlikely to make things better (e.g. I don't know if LMS 7.9 runs on XP)

If the setup worked fine for years and suddenly stoppped - then something has changed. If you could identify the change (e..g. reinstalled windows, got new router, changed ISP) then advice would be more specific.

Assuming server is running on Windows OK (i.e. it is not hung or has crashed after startup), then the most common problem for no communication would be network. Check that the Slimp3 server is registered with XP firewall as a trusted application and that TCP & UDP port 3483, broadcast UDP onport 3483 and TCP port 9000 are open in the firewall. IIRC SlimP3 protocol is slightly different than later players so I might be wrong on some details but check the firewall re port 3483.
