    VortexBox - prevent service starts

I want to prevent the DAAP and DLNA servers from starting at boot.

I tried ntsysv --level 3 to no avail. The Auto-ripper is also a candidate but it's name is not evident.

    Thanks

    Paul

    EDIT:

OK: VortexBox does not use the run level defined in /etc/inittab (said to be 3)

    ntsysv --level 12345

Allowed me to stop starting <hic> the services. Anybody know the name of the auto-ripper ?

Disabling these services saved a serious amount of memory for this VM.

The auto ripper service is called "vortexbox" I believe.

Doing a "chkconfig --del vortexbox" should disable it.

To turn off autostart for the DLNA server:

    Code:
    chkconfig minidlna off
To turn of autostart for the DAAP server:

    Code:
    chkconfig forked-daapd off
To turn off autostart of the VB Auto Ripper:

    Code:
    chkconfig vortexbox off
To stop a running DNLA server:

    Code:
    service minidlna stop
To stop a running DAAP server:

    Code:
    service forked-daapd stop
To stop a running Auto Ripper:

    Code:
    service vortexbox stop
