How to connect 5.1 speakers to squeezebox

    Hi

I have some creative 5.1 speakers (I know that I won't get 5.1 sound from the squeezebox) that I wish to use with my squeezebox. I only have three male connectors for my speakers, what's the best way to connect them? I get a buzzing sound when connected to the L and R outputs of the squeezebox. Is there a convertor which lets me use all three connectors (eg perhaps to the digital out?).

Are these self powered speakers? ex: You can connect them directly to a basic CD player (no amplifier/receiver) and get audio?

yes they are self powered - they are creative labs 5.1s, the sort you get with a home desktop computer package.

Three male RCA plugs for speaker inputs? What colors are the plugs? And what's the model name of the speakers? Does the speaker system have any outputs?

I think you can only use the Coax digital out on the Squeezebox to your Creative Labs speakers, see if that does the trick

I am not the greatest at sound technology so should I (say) just get a headphone splitter to the three male plugs or use the left and right outputs?
