    SHOW cli-command at Squeezebox Radio

Sorry, I thought I had mentioned this. But probably somewhere else: yes,
    those features are not implemented.

    Question

Is it not possible to recompile the source-code for the squeezeboxserver and the included firmware for the Squeezebox radio so that the text duration is >> than 3 seconds?

No need to re-compile anything. You might want to play with the values in
    /usr/share/jive/slim/Player.lua -> _process_displaystatus. duration
defaults to 3000ms - try to change those occurrences and see whether it
    helps your cause.

I don't immediately understand why it's not evaluating the duration
    parameter there though.

Is the server _sending_ one at all for showBriefly messages created through the CLI? I thought you said it doesn't.
    Or is show different?

Hello mherger. I logged in to my Radio players via SSH and using
    vi /usr/share/jive/jive/slim/Player.lua
I changed the first (of two) "3000" default value to "25000"
then I issued "reboot" and the SHOW function is now 25s long.
    -YES! Thank you.
But, with the next upgrade, the changes will revert back to 3000ms, or isn't it?

(To test this function, I use http://192.168.1.1:9000/status.txt?p0=display&p1='TEXT-ROW1'&p2='TEXT-ROW2'&p3=30&player=*
where 192.168.1.1 is the Squeezeboxserver and "30" was supposed to be duration, but never worked, and "players=*" will show the text on all squeezebox players.)

Please note that this will probably keep some popups longer on the screen
than you'd like. But you know how to fix it.

Actually no, they won't. But that's not only good news: any bug fix or
other change in that file will not be installed either. Therefore you
should probably run a factory reset after any update to make sure you get
the latest bug fixes and features...

I've attached a patch for the server side to
    http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15749. This would solve the
issue at its source, allowing the duration parameter in display commands.
I hope to include it in our next LMS release.

No, it's not checked in yet. I'd like it to be reviewed by someone who
knows that code a little better. But I'm positive it should make its way
    to the code.

    Hi.

Sorry that I have to ask another question to this thread but I am very interested in the part you have done with Asterix.

I devloped a script for the Callmonitor of the freetz to display the caller id on the displays of Squeezebox Touch an the connected SB Boom/Radio too and it works fine. But I have a problem. After some connects and sending the display commands the Squeezebox is refusing the connection on port 9090. So I have to reboot my Squeezebox Touch and the SB server and after it works fine until a unspecific time.

Do you have such behavior too? How are you connecting to the CLI interface? First i connected via telnet but then I switched to netcat for sending more commands in one session but the problem still exists. How are you doing it with Asterix?

    Script with telnet:

    Best regards
