Any chance of a forced build of the nightlies? The build server seems to have stalled again today.

Hrm, that would explain why everything suddenly broke last night! (I build my own RPMs from trunk and updated last night!).

Time to step back to the revision before onebrowser was merged, methinks...

Actually, I seems onebrowser may not have been the cause of this particular issue, although I've not managed to get the server up and running to test yet.

How do I make SBS use an already-installed version of MySQL? I used to just change the prefs manually when the server was stopped:

    dbpassword: secret
    dbsource: dbi:mysql:dbname=squeezeboxserver
    dbusername: squeezeboxserver

However, when I start SBS with that in server.prefs it just overwrites it with an SQLite config:

    dbpassword: secret
    dbsource: dbi:SQLite:dbname=/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/squeezebox.db
    dbusername: squeezeboxserver

    Am I missing something here?

    Add:

    dbtype: MySQL

Be forewarned, however, that a 'clear & rescan everything' scan may not work with MySQL. It hasn't yet for me. In 7.6, the external scanner is only called when the 'clear & rescan everything' (or the initial scan with no database) is called. The problem, I believe, is that the external scanner has no provision yet for differentiating between SQLite and MySQL as the db type. The best you can hope for is that you'll be able to cleanly kill the initial scan and then be able to run a new & changed scan. In practice, it may take a lot more work than that.

    Thanks.

Any idea how to specify the location of the mysql socket? Does that go in the DBI DSN?

Something is broken in the support for MySQL - it does all the right stuff to detect an external MySQL server, it gets the correct location for the socket, etc. but the doesn't use it.

I've run out of time to hack and have just changed the system MySQL to use /tmp/mysql.sock instead of /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
