Jeff Parker: Suite for Max Brown
For Jazz nerds who are looking for something fresh and new, but will clearly stand the test of time. It's been a while since a new Jazz recording impressed me as much as this one is right now. This feel fresh and experimental yet it is very accessible. I tend to favor more traditional jazz, but this has really expanded my horizons. Very highly recommended.

Visited an almost local record shop in Bedford this morning for the first time. Came away with a couple of LPs:
Amyl and the Sniffers' eponymous LP
Fat White Family - Serfs Up
These were the soundtrack as I pottered with setting up a Raspberry Pi Zero with a Pirate Audio DAC and headphone amp with 240x240 screen. It's almost working!
There's something right about rootling in bins of LPs, though modern record shops are a bit minimalist (and perhaps refined) compared to the heyday of vinyl. It's amazing to think about the number and variety of record shops in the town I grew up in.

The shows change on the first of the month and the previous shows are scrobbled during the last play of each show at the end of the month.
