Yep, Leon's first two solo albums are masterpieces. (I'm not counting the Asylum Choir albums as solo here, although I like both those albums too, and have both). Also love his various country albums ("Hank Wilson") with and without Willie Nelson. Got to see him live back in 1972 when his show was a powerhouse performance (think about him on the Bangladesh Concert video). Saw him a year or two before he died at a small club in NYC. A much more subdued performance, but still a great show.

When you think about Leon's contributions to music from back in the early 1960s (Wrecking Crew and the "Shindogs"), Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs tour, and all his other work, there's not many who have had such an impact.

Arno is a well known a praised Belgian singer. He recently turned 70 but he's still going strong.
I am listening to his latest album called

Some people might know Arno from the band TC Matic. He was the lead singer and produced some great classic tunes with that band.
    Have a listen here: https://backl.ink/arnosanteboutique

FWIW The Guardian give it 5 stars, he hasn't sounded like Red Right Hand for a very long time.

Yeah - the other half read that too! Maybe I'm just past it all - been disappointed by so many 'greats' these days. Found myself listening to NDR 1 from Niedersachsen this week on 'Der Tag der deutsche Einheit' when they played only German tracks all day (although many were in English!).

Indeed. And isn't it often the case that the albums that don't grab you on first listening are the ones that grow on you and ultimately endure? Quite enjoying Ghosteen myself at the moment - never been a fan, but it suits a Friday evening mood rather well.
