Big Basco by Basco
This is an odd one, but very compelling.
Basically, this is a kind of Danish folk trio (Basco) joined by three horn players (Big Basco). The base trio plays violin, viola, accordion and trombone; for Big Basco it is supplemented by two french horns and a helicon (the kind of tuba that wraps around the player).
They play a variety of music, ranging from English folk tunes through Scandinavian folk to jazz to elements of classical. Mainly instrumental, but do sing in English and Danish. The sound is great and the musicianship absolutely stellar.
See them on Facebook at http://da-dk.facebook.com/Bascoband?v=info, the album streams from there.
I love this recording. Available on iTunes and on eMusic. Haven't found a lossless download source though.

John Fullbright
Found this interestng singer/songwriter recently. He plays a nice guitar and also a very nice piano. He did a webcast from Bob Weir's TRI studios a few days back. I look forward to hearing more of this young fellow.
