    Light-sensor as On/Off switch??

Is there a way or plug-in that i can use the Light-sensor as a On/Off switch??
    Example:
Radio on the toilet, light is out radio stops.
Some one is using it, light went on and the radio is playing.
    Greetings Henk:

User off: Classic, Duet, Radio and Touch.
    And a bunch off Harmony's.

    Hi there

AFAIK there is no such plugin. You would need to implement that on SB Radio by reading the ambient light sensor value and then simulate play / stop button events.

    Hi,

I've had the same idea (avoid manually switching on my Squeezebox Radio every time I enter the bathroom) and have come up with a somewhat clumsy but working hack.

You can read out the ambient light sensor from the Squeezebox's ssh shell - and it is also possible to at least mute/unmute the audio from the shell, as well. I've put together a small script (bathrooms) which mutes the Radio when the ambient brightness drops below a threshold (light off), and unmutes it when the brightness rises above a threshold (light on).

You can find the script (with installation instructions) here:

Send light sensor value to a web-server

    Hi all,

I was looking for a way to send the ambient light value from a SB Radio to a web-server using a parameter on the command line. Something like:

    192.168.1.1/test.asp?lightvalue=xyz

This would be done from a similar script as was posted by Enno above. Howver, I don't see the curl command in the radio. Anyone have any thoughts on a different way to accomplish this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers
    Al

Hi TeraX, I have figured out a way to do this and have incorporated this into my home automation system (HomeSeer). See here for details: http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=148993.

    Cheers
