Volume normalization is not supported on arm devices I am afraid.

Why? Is it a decision by spotify?

I don't believe the arm library supports it.

Normalisation works fine with my own music on arm. It's a pity that it doesn't work with spotify. So buying another NAS with a different cpu would be the only possible solution?

Anyway, thank you very much for this nice plugin. Besides the problem with normalisation it works just fine for me.

Spotify plugin (Helper App) not working on ds214

    Hello,

I have some issue for making working the Spotify plugin on my DS214.

    Configuration:

    - DS214 (Arm Processor)
    - DSM 5.1 up to date
    - LMS 7.7.3-040
    - Spotify plugin (2.3.9), the one proposed in the list of plugins
    - Spotify Premium Account

I can connect to my Spotify account and see my playlists,...

When I run the test, the Helper App Fails (Not running). When I try to open the files from the navigation panel, he is passing from one song to the other.

    What I have tested:

    - Restinstall and restart the NAS several times
    - Remove the "standard" Spotify Plugin
    - Change the output port (9005, 9006, 9007). I think that I tried also to open the corresponding port in the NAS configuration, to be confirmed
    - Run the Spotifyd from SSH. It says something like that the app is already running.

Do you have any advice how to make it working, if it is possible on this device ?

    Thank you,

    Peterpoon

    [Update]

After rechecking the NAS ports, I succeeded to make the self test, until the last check (Unable to Authenticate player --> Fail). I am not able to ear anyhting when I start a Spotify song from the server on the different players.

Looking to the log file I have this when starting a Spotify song:

    [23:08:49.592110] main:619 req: stream.flc res: spotify:track:0xCA70t1ZA4fa9UOE0lIJm par: player=38%3A0b%3A40%3Ade%3A2e%3Af3&start=0&sync=1& id=35 prot: SPOTSTREAM/1.0 auth: (null)
    [23:08:49.592307] main:813 newstream connection from 91.179.210.194
    [23:08:49.598593] check_player:319 player address mismatch 91.179.210.194 192.168.1.235
[23:08:49.598754] main:871 unable to play on this player: -5

Do you have any idea ?

    Thank you

    [SOLVED]

My problem was due to the fact that my Synology was directly connected to Internet and not through a router. Putting the Synology server running LMS behind the router solved the connection problem with Spotify.

I've found a download-site for a new release of the armv5 version of the Libspotify API 12.1.51:
    https://developer.spotify.com/technologies/libspotify/
Maybe it's possible to include this version to the spotify plugin on my NAS to get Volume Normalisation?
    Thank You.

    no Library

Hi I have the Triode plug in, and it workd perfectly for playlists, but when I choose the Library option, there is nothing in the Library. I am guessing that this should be working ---- is it a common problem?

    Buffering issues

Running squeezebox on my qnap TS-459, with lms7.8.1

Works with triode plugin for more then a year. Never an issue, until last 2 weeks.
Buffering on squeezebox radio and squeezebox touch.Music plays for maximum 2 seconds and then stops again.

Strange thing: No buffering on squeeze play, running on my mac via Wifi.

Test says: Streaming to player stalled before end of track, rate LOW

Anybody any idea how I can get back my normal working triode app?

cli connection error: Connection reset by peer

I am new to this plugin and trying to get it to work on my Synology DS713+ (INTEL Atom) with DSM 5.1-5022 Update 2.

LSM 7.7.3-040 and the log in DSM shows:

    Plugins::Spotify::ProtocolHandler::handleDirectErr or (366) stream failed - bad player: -1

    On LMS it shows:

    Libspotify API 10.1.16.g7a6bc7ea Release Linux-i686

    Self Test - Complete
    Helper App Running PASS
    Logged In PASS
    Spotify Metadata OK PASS
    Streaming from Spotify OK PASS
    Unable to authenticate player FAIL
Helper app unable to authenticate player (error: -1)

    The log shows:
    main:567 new connection
    main:619 req: stream.pcm res: spotify:track:... par: player=...&start=0&sync=1&id=14 prot: SPOTSTREAM/1.0 auth: (null)
    main:813 newstream connection from 192.168.254.188
    main:849 streamid: 0 newid: 14 type: PCM
check_player:264 cli connection error: Connection reset by peer 104
main:871 unable to play on this player: -1
    main:567 new connection
main:619 req: cover.jpg res: spotify:image:... par: (null) prot: HTTP/1.0 auth: (null)
    write_cover:123 cover fetch: No error
    log_message:81 log: 20:52:35.838 I [offline-mgr:2116] 0 files unlocked. 0 images unlocked
    streambuf_end_of_track:639 end of track

The Synology is wired to my ASUS RT-AC66U and I have tried both to get it working for my Duet as well as SB3 via WiFi, but no luck so far.
The remote as well as android app shows all the Spotify menus and songs with cover art, but fails playing.
General Firewall as well as IPv6 Firewall disabled on the router and it is a simple home network.

Could there be some "hidden" setting blocking the CLI? Have tried to change port from 9090 to 9095, but that did not make a difference. How can it be tested further?

    ***

RESOLVED by changing: LMS > Settings > Plugins > Security > Block Incoming Connections: changed to "Do not block" and it now works. :)
