When I am in the play mode on my SB3 I get a clef note symbol in the lower right corner of the display. I seem to remember reading that it can be turned off but in my searches I can not find any reference to removing it. It is not of any great importance but it irritates me that there is a useless symbol on the display. I am assuming that it is useless but perhaps it has a use? Any help would be appreciated.

Eliminating clef symbol on SB3 display

I think the simplest way to achieve that is to install the "Music Information Screen" plugin by Michael Herger. The plugin makes the now playing screen completely configurable, and you can specify a format without the clef symbol.

I think it's actually a quaver note, not a clef. Just FYI!

Eliminating clef symbol on SB3 display
Sirs,
The plugin might be a way to eliminate the note but, from what I
remember in my previous readings, there was a much simpler method.
If I knew anything about music I might have known about "quavers". But
I do not and never did. I have never been a music lover. Most of my use
of the SB is OTR and audio books. But I do appreciate the information
about "quavers".
Perhaps someone can provide another way to eliminate the quaver
symbol?

I don't know where you're from, but if you've lived mostly (or
entirely) in the US or Canada you have a good excuse for not knowing
what a quaver is. On this side of the pond it's called an eighth note.
