How can I remotely turn on and off my stereo system using the Duet Remote?
What X10 stuff do I need, or is there a better way.
Thanks

Tell us a little more about your amp and setup. Does your amp have a serial or ethernet port? Is it close to your server? How would you feel about pointing your Duet Controller at your amp to turn it on using the amp's infrared remote eye?
Generally for X10 you need a CM17 Firecracker, a TM751 or RR501 RF appliance module, and a USB-to-serial adapter if your SqueezeCenter/Squeezebox Server machine doesn't have a serial port. You might need more than that if your server is too far from your amp; more still if you have electrical devices that interfere with X10 command codes. But if your amp is a Denon with ethernet, there's a better way. If your amp is a Denon with RS232 and it's near your server (or you're willing to buy a $80 USD Sena serial port server), there's a better way. If you use direct connections to MySqueezebox.com and don't mind pointing your Controller at your amp, there's a better way. There, did I downplay PowerCenter and X10 enough?owner of the stuff at https://tuxreborn.netlify.app/
