Question Centos startup error squeezeboxserver 7.4.1

I have seen this question asked many times....but still no answers!!

I have tried this on 2 machines running centos 4. Same error in /var/log/messages:
runuser: Use of uninitialized value in subroutine entry at /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/YAML/Syck.pm line 75

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the rpm...still no better.

    Any ideas?

    Centos is hardy obscure

    Unhappy

    I don't get it!
This question is posted lots of times and no answers!

It is not just centos 4 and 5, but ubuntu as well seeing this problem.
Back in week or 2, I will just go and learn Perl and sort it out myself.

I am getting a new Squeezebox Radio and believe I need squeezeboxserver 7.4.x ?

Meh, this kinda thing seems to happen every time there is a major squeezecenter/server upgrade.

    Arrow

Well that was waste of my time.

I did actually phone up customer support, as their email is down.

He said he had logged my call...he didn't take the OS I am using or make a note of my error. Seemed to have just enough English to read through the script!

    Well I did try.

    Still the same

I know I am just talking to myself...but it makes me feel good

Sorry I can't help with this problem, although I can say it's certainly not affecting all Ubuntu installs as both of mine are working fine. You could try a 7.5 build? That's working fine for me at the moment on Ubuntu as well.

A good option in that case is to file a bug, and someone seems to have done that only four days ago: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14939

You should add your system information in the bug (the report is for opensuse), and maybe also output from starting sbs with options "--d_startup --debug server=debug".
