I live where we get lots of power outages during the winter. Will the radio keep reasonably accurate time and still do an alarm if the wall power is out? I presume that it would need a battery pack, but other than that, do the alarms still work with no wall power?
I guess that if the internet is out, then there would be no streaming radio to wake me up, but as long as a basic 'beep' works, that would be enough.

Since you live in an area with a lot of power outages, I highly recommend connecting the Radio to an inexpensive UPS.
4 Squeezebox Radios
2 Squeezebox Receivers
1 Squeezebox Boom
1 Squeezebox Classic
1 Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro w/ Squeeze Commander
2 Samsung Galaxy S6s w/ Squeeze Commander
4 iPads w/ iPeng

Or buy the battery kit when its released.
Any electric alarm needs a battery backup. And even wind up alarms need
to be wound each night
