    New Musicservice. Spotify

How about SB support for Spotify? http://www.spotify.com

Here in Sweden we can't use most of the Musicservices (not even the official LastFM service) offered by the SB so at least one should be nice.

    Kind Regards.

Yes SC support for Spotify would be great, Spotify rocks, as someone put it it's like LastFM on steroids!!

Please could you explain to a billy-no-mates-with-an-invite what makes this service different from last.fm?

It's and ad supported free service, the extract below sums it up well, it's taken from this blog
    http://www.robertnyman.com/2007/09/0...blows-me-away/

    What is it then?
Spotify will, if it continues to deliver such a great experience as it currently does, revolutionize the way we access and listen to music! It’s like Joost but for music, with outstanding performance and without the stupid geographic restrictions the video service has.

Basically, it’s an iTunes-like interface where you can listen to radio adapted to what decade and music type your like, or, and this is what really blows me away, search for any song or artist you want to hear, and it is immediately streamed to you! Then you can also create playlists of any songs you like.

Just imagine the power of having any music you want to listen to just by your fingertips, without the need of transferring it to each and every computer where you want to listen to it. Imagine having all the music you ever owned, and more, available to you at any computer or location. Amazing!

This could mean (In a perfect world)

No need for SC just SN.
No need for buying or downloading music.
No need for rip, tag, store or chase albumcovers.

Let's hope for ReplayGain, Gapless playback and the ability to set the bitrate manual or automatic depending on your download speed.

    This I could pay for.

It's not exactly new. I already used a service like that, it's called Napster On Demand - £9.99 a month for access is an incredible music library. Hopefully the Squeezebox will support it one day. Those that live in the states have Rhapsody, which is the same but US only. Also, Last.FM have a similar service in beta right now.

Free but with adds does not really appeal to me, i would rather pay a few quid and not have to endure tedious adverts. However, like that blogs says, it could be done well - but my guess it that it will be plastered with adverts.
