I will be fascinating to see how well it works compared to the standard Denon app, which is clunky and slow, and for whatever eats battery on my Pixel 6.

    Looking forward to your feedback...

P.S. You might want to update your signature to reflect your current setup. I thought you were still running LMS 8.0.

Will do. Unfortunately, my LMS is now doa. Probably unrelated to the plugin install, but I'm looking for solutions to that now, which may require going back to an earlier LMS as the latest #WIN10 nightly didn't resolve it.

Just to make sure it's not the plugin, I would suggest that you uninstall it and see if the LMS problem goes away, the reason being that I had a problem in the past that only happened when running LMS under Windows, which is relatively rare among users of the plugin. In the meantime, I will do some additional testing with a Windows LMS here.

It looks like there is indeed another Windows-specific problem in the latest plugin release. Please uninstall it for now. I apologize for the inconvenience.

No apology needed. It looks like my LMS problem is Windows Anti-virus protection related. I switch off all the anit-virus protection and the server started up and completed without additional error.

I'm intrigued by this plugin and would be happy to do any debugging or testing if that would help. I've deactivated it for now.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation, Mark. I have coded and tested a fix for the Windows-specific problem in v4.6.1 of the plugin and would appreciate your help in further testing. What I would need you to do is to install v4.6.1 and then, before activating it, replace three of the modules in the plugin's directory with the ones attached below. NOTE: For some reason, the forum would not let me upload a file over 100k in size with the ".pm" file extension, so you must rename plugin.pm.txt to plugin.pm after downloading. To be safe, you can rename the old modules first if you like. Just add an extension such as ".save" or something like that. On a vanilla Windows install, the directory would be:

    "C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\ Plugins\DenonAvpControl"

After copying the new modules to the directory, start/restart LMS and follow the installation instructions in the wiki page at https://github.com/aesculus/denonavp...n-Instructions to set up and configure the plugin for your environment, then restart LMS again in order to begin testing. If you have any questions or problems, let me know. Thanks again for your help.

I've done the install steps, including the rename and restarted. I have some time later to go through the configuring wiki.

    Thanks so much!

    Version 4.6.2 released

This version contains the following changes:

    • Fix another Windows blocking socket read problem (Windows only).
    • Improve the logic for powering on the AVR automatically during initialization after hitting "play" while the player is turned off, reducing the time until playback begins.
    • Smooth out AVR volume changes by implementing a smart throttling mechanism on "mixer volume" notifications coming from LMS.
    • Various other bug fixes and optimizations.

NOTE: Windows users should upgrade immediately if automatic updates are not turned on as the Windows socket problem can cause LMS to become unresponsive in certain situations.
