    Squeezebox, Squeezecenter and Pulseaudio.

Is there any project to make the Squeezecenter and Squeezebox "talk" with Pulseaudio ?

I am not a specialist, but Pulseaudio as a lot of convenient features, like transporting sound on the network. It would be nice to have such interaction.

I believe (but may be it is false) that this sould allow to have vlc for example, and actually *all* the sound of the computer sent to the squeezebox.

Pulseaudio is now in use on the last popular Ubuntu distributions.

    t.d.

I am not familiar with PUlse Audio. What additional functionality do you see PulseAudio plugin providing compared to using "WaveInput For Linux" ( http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49584 ) ?

    That would be great

    I second the request!

For instance, it would be great to browse LastFM on the PC (for me isolated in another room) and get the sound through the SB in the living room.

I was thinking putting an icecast sink for pulseaudio and connect to the stream from the SB. I still have to test it, but it seems that icecast only support ogg/mp3 and my server is actually outside the home.

EDIT: OK, I am just reading the indicated thread (oops...) Should be sufficient for my needs!

I am not familiar with PulseAudio but I think if you use the WaveInput for Linux plugin and change the device to be used from "default" or "hw:0,0" to "pulse" it should work.

I've been doing some work on a Pulse Audio backend to try to get SqueezePlay working under Maemo (Nokia's N900 et al). There's a patch which works for 7.6 on Ubuntu here (mangling the URL to get around the spam filer):

    https colon // garage.maemo.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=5627&group_id=1311&atid= 4902

It's a first cut and not perfect (getting it into the build was a bit of a kludge) but I'm throwing it out there so others can play too.

Thanks for sharing that. There's a bunch of people who wanted that done! I'll be testing it later today.
