    Taking a DAB line-in feed, encoding it and playing it out

    Writing this it seems like a really naïve question but I’d appeciate
    some help in knowing if this is feasible.

    I don’t have Broadband and living in the middle of the North Yorkshire
    National Park am unlikely to ever get it. So my access to DAB radio is
    through a Pure Evoke and a HauPPage DEC1000 What I’d like to be able to
    do is to feed the DAB output into my PC, encode it and play it out using
    SlimServer. Am I in drifting into the realm of the unwell here?

    You don't need to encode it, Slim & sb can both play mp2 files if you're recording them. If you're talking about listening to live DAB then you've got to find out how to stream audio from it, in dabbar with a wavefinder or PCI card then you set up a .pls playlist something like:

    [playlist]
    NumberOfEntries=2
    Version=2
    File1=http://server:8080/49825.mp2
    Title1=Classic FM
    File2=http://server:8080/49600.mp2
    Title1=Radio 4

    I'm sure it'll be similar with the DEC1000
