Remote conflicts betw squeezebox and my DVD player

I think I am right in saying that the older SliMP3 remote control
will work on the Squeezebox and that these use a different IR codeset to the
new ones. Given that, you may be able to use one of these older remotes
without it interfering with your other equipment.
Alos IIRR the older IR was more 'standard' than the newer one and
may even be something that a 'One for All' can send as a standard
pre-programmed code. So if you have one of those you could try it. I am sure
someone from SlimDevices can tell you which codes to try.
The ability of the new firmware to receive most standard IR is not
going to help as it is not decoded into 'keypresses' currently and there is
no inbuilt learn ability in the server yet. Perhaps something for the future
though. I would really like to see an IR learn function provided within the
SlimServer for other control uses at some point as it makes the Squeezebox a
    great HA appliance.

The 'older' remotes used the standard JVC DVD codes, so any universal remote
should be able to control the Squeezebox. However, the response to JVC codes
isn't very reliable with firmware prior to v20 or v21. Due to update issues
with WinXP, the server defaults to using v10 for now. I did use the JVC codes
on very early firmware for a while. While it is unreliable, it is workable, and
perhaps preferrable to having your tapes eject mid-record.

With the firmware stuck at v10 by default, the IR capture isn't available
either. At least, for the moment.
