Nothing there - it just says "all apps are up to date".

I am doing a factory reset on the iPod now and will try again in a while....

Thanks for your attention so far.

Old iPod - can't restore iPeng Classic

No luck - I did a factory reset and logged into my Apple Id on the iPod - no change in what I see on it. Also - it still does not show up in my devices when I log into that account from a computer. I am beginning to think that Apple has completely dropped support for the old iPod touch and does not care about it anymore...very frustrating.

In the App Store app, I can browse many apps, but can't find iPeng - and I understand Classic was removed by Apple a while ago.

    So I am still stuck.

Which iOS version is this? This somehow differs between versions but most old iOS versions have either a „purchases“ tab under „Updates“ or a first item „purchases“ (again, under updates.

I can no longer get my iOS 3 devices to connect to the App Store but they do throw an error and my iOS 6 iPod won’t boot right now, so I can’t really try myself

In the About section, it says Version 4.2.1 (8C148). This is an 8GB second-generation Touch.

I went back through all my old purchase receipts and found that I had purchased iPeng v1.0.4 on 12/27/2008! I am sure there were subsequent updates downloaded automatically over the years.

I filed a support ticket with Apple, but suspect they will laugh at me . And since Classic was kicked out of the Store, they probably can't help me get the app back in any case.

Ok, i checked my iPhone with that iOS version.
Here the App Store does indeed doesn’t seem to have a purchased apps list.

    Let’s see what Apple answers...

I have the ipa files for versions 1.5.3, 1.6.1, 2.0.15, 2.0.16, 2.0.17 of iPeng on my mac. I'm running ios 6.1.6 on an old 3gs so I use 2.0.17.

Could you use one of these to install iPeng on your ipod touch through itunes? You'll need itunes 12.6.5 or older as Apple removed app download and install support after that.

I'm not sure if Apple signs the ipa file to a specific apple id or not, perhaps Pippin knows, but if you have no luck with Apple, I can provide one for you to try.

Apple at least claims that the ipa's are signed per AppleID but I'm not sure to which extent that's true.
People used to jailbreak their devices to install ipa's themselves, and I think those are typically cracked, so there must be some sort of copy protection.

    Have you asked Innuos support.
As I said: iPeng doesn’t store the playlist so there’s nothing I can do from the app side.
Thanks. I contacted Innuos, and they went into Terminal to change a ‘permissions’ setting. I’ve had no problems since then.

So not particularly helpful. It is funny that they want me to contact the developer to ask why it is no longer available since that was due to their decision, not pippin's.
