Yes, but don't hope for too much at least with the iPeng skin solution (which is QuickTime). It buffers ~3min @192 kBit/s.

So is there anything (including a possible future upgrade to the iPeng app) that would work well?

I don't entirely understand the wi-fi aspect of the iPod Touch. It doesn't usually drop out completely (though that has happened from time to time) but the level does jump up and down without any obvious cause.

Yes. An implementation of SlimProto on iPeng which I plan for 1.3. It could buffer a stream so at least some seconds of outage should be covered.

What I meant was that your comment suggested that a whole program would be downloaded to the iPod/iPhone and that'S probably not feasible, at least not for streaming.

Yes, I did misunderstand what is possible.

SlimProto would probably be fine, once iPeng supports it.

    Hi,

I'm very satisfied with iPeng, so I'll just go ahead and start a series of complaints

In the "middle" Now Playing screen there is a free space on the right-hand side. I think this could be put to very good use as a shortcut to Favo(u)rites. Not sure how much I should elaborate, but the crux of the matter is that for quickly turning on radio, or whatever, the current setup requires quite a few operations.

Turn on iPeng, press back, press more, press favourites

    vs.

    Turn on iPeng, press favourites.

I realise that space is probably very sought after, but I think putting Favourites there makes alot of sense and sort of respects the intention of Favourites.

    B.

    Good :-)

Sorry, already taken for 1.2 :-)
Although it's not yet completely decided how the 1.2 UI for NowPlaying will look like, but it will definitely be different.

You are aware that you can put "Favorites" onto the tab bar my pressing "Edit" on the "More" page? That would make it
    "torn on iPeng->back->Favorites"

Is it possible to do fast forward by press and hold the skip-button? I am using ipeng with softsqueeze by the way. Another minor issue is if a song is paused and the skip-backward button is pressed it starts playing the song (from the beginning), should it not still be paused? Otherwise it is working very nice!

Artwork not displsyed for all albums

Been usiing this app for a little while, and i realised it cached artwork as it goes, but i'm noticing missing artwork. All my album have artwork, but probably 10-20% is missing. Anyway to force the app to cache all artwork? any clues as to how to get it to fill the art up?
    Cheers

No, fast forward does not work except for AlienBBC streams where it shows up in the progress bar.
    Does the Squeezebox support ffw?
You can, however, use the progress bar to drag to whatever position you want to get to in a track.
I believe the skip button works as in other SC interfaces but will check.

Does it show different artwork than in the web interface? This can happen after an incremental rescan, settings->iPeng Settings->Flush Cache should help

    Hi,

another small issue. Normally pressing the album icon starts playback, while pressing the text drills into the hierarchy. In the search result list it works the opposite way (at least at the track level).

Yes, but to quote your own words "that space is already taken"

Don't know what your plans are, but somehow I think it really would make sense to have such a shortcut from the "Now Playing" screen into an arbitrary (by configuration) place in ones library/radio/services (via Favourites). At the same time I can see that it might not be worth the effort saving a single operation or two as iPeng is never going to achieve always-instant-super-quick-one-touch-mega-convenient access anyway.

A related feature that could be useful is volume control from the browsing interface. The reasoning is that volume sometimes needs to be accessed really fast (phone calls etc).
