Yeah, my mistake. I never claimed to be an expert

It's allso difficult to find out information on Napster when their site insists on re-directing me to the german site based on my IP, then doesn't give me the option to change the language or location. grrrrr

It's completely different to last.fm - it's an 'all you can eat' subscription streaming service. It's like having 6 million albums in your collection (edit: its not like that, it is having 6 million albums while you are paying). It's like having a jukebox in your house, but with virtually every CD in the world in it.

I want Napster so bad now, i have seriously considered jumping ship (although its very unlikely).
Dear Sir, you have stolen words from my mouth.

Napster's library is vast, interesting and cross-referenced - it would make an enourmous difference. Imagine integrating the napster subscription to ones' library, as has been done with Last.fm since SC 7.1: you start with a song/album/author, then provided it exists in the Napster library (and believe you me, chances are IT WILL), you could sail off to a tour of incredible discovery. Then imagine you could bookmark the songs you have listened to(by choosing individual songs, not being force-fed a preassembled playlist/radio) during your voyage of discovery - you log into Squeezenetwork and access Napster with an option to buying them (DRM-free, as it happens). Or you setup a shopping list that you may print off to go and buy. Oh, and by the way, you have to pay last.fm if you want to skip songs in the radio you are listening to....

Suddenly here is a product that is, in terms of features, a strict superset of the Sonos.

I think the free last.fm account allows skips, but limited to like 6 skips per hour per station.

Agreed, 4 skips. But that still is not enough - choice is what I am after...

I pay Last.fm (subscriber) and I still get a limited number of skips. :-(

6 million CDs.. wow! But you have to pay Napster and also pay for your increased broadband bandwidth usage.

BTW. I really shouldn't worry. Logitech are currently going about improving the syncing of the players, one of the two areas where the Sonos product (far) outstrips the Logitech offering. I'm certain they'll be looking hard at providing Napster too, the other area. There's only two reasons I can think of to stop it being implemented:

    1) Sonos have some sort of exclusive hardware deal with Napster
    2) It need stuff done in firmware and there's not enough capacity

    Neither seem very likely.

I heard about the hardware issue, to do with the need for a larger buffer. As for exclusive deals, well, think games for ps3 and xbox360...

I hope that logitech are working on this deal, truly hope so - still this and other threads are to remind them, if there ever was any need - that Napster integration is something that the comunity wishes for, in particular in those countries where Napster is available. There are soo many new customers to woo with this offering...

    regards,

    Giacomo

Ah, didn't know that - that actually is not that nice...broadband ok, again, depending on your deal - possibly a problem in the future if caps become more and more stringent....still...

Just to add my plea to the list for Napster integration - I don't want to live in an Apple dominated world anymore!!!
