I can't reproduce. Does this happen for any artist or only some? It
should return a search results listing.
I have tryed with a couple of artist, but they all return an empty list.

    I can't connect to Last.fm

Whenever I try to connect to Last.fm through SqueezeNetwork, I get a message
"To enter your Last.fm account information, visit squeezenetwork.com."
I have entered and re-entered my last.fm account info loads of times.

What is strange is that I can add favourites in the SqueezeNetwork web page but on the controller, I have a completely different list. Also in the web page it lists my duet receiver as one of the players (but not my S3) but when I connect the receiver to SqueezeNetwork it changes to "null" / "You have no known players." in the web page.

I have tried setting a different e-mail in the SqueezeNetwork web page and also in the SqueezeCenter settings but still no joy.

    Any ideas?

Ok, I have used Firefox and Safari. I click on "Authorize this account". It takes me to last.fm, I enter my username and password, and it then says authorize Squeezenetwork (yes or cancel). I select yes, it takes me back to Squeezenetwork. It still says "Authorize this account", I press Save Settings at the bottom, and the SB3 still says, you need to authorize this account.

Is there some invisible text that is supposed to tell me different?

Ah, there is the problem! It does not like capital letters in the user name, although, my last.fm username has capital letters. Somebody using tolower(string) ?

    Huge dissapointment.
If I were you, I'd convey that to Last.fm. Remember this is their service... we just make it work on our hardware and software.

I had the same looping problems in trying to register my lastfm account on the squeezenetwork. I finally solved the problem.

    Here is the proper procedure.

    Register an account at lastfm
Enter your user name and password at squeezenetwork
Click on the phrase on squeezenetwork that says "authorize"
You will be redirected to lastfm
Click the button on the lastfm website to authorize squeezenetwork
    Don't do anything else
    You are good to go

    What you must not do:
Don't check the box on squeezenetwork account info for lastfm to the left of your lastfm account name
Don't click the save changes button on squeezenetwork account info for lastfm

I kept checking the box and then clicking saving changes. I think checking the box deletes the account!!!!! So don't do it.

It would be nice if squeezenetwork corrected their interface as I see that many people have had this problem.

Question What "SqueezeCenter support" is being developed?

What is meant with "SqueezeCenter support"? Since long we've been able to play Last.fm in any country (not just UK, US and Germany) using SC. Are you talking about a user interface to somehow set the Last.fm radio station in SC and then being able to shutdown the computer running SC (but then: that would either require SqueezeNetwork or some other SB firmware, right)? Or maybe just synchronising settings between SC and SqueezeNetwork?

In any case: PLEASE do not remove the existing Last.fm support from SC for those of us not living in the UK, US or Germany...! Though it's too bad that I need to have a computer running just to play Last.fm on my SB, at least it does play and is better than nothing!

I'll backup my existing copy of SC today... ;-)

Lightbulb Account details for those NOT in UK, US or Germany

    Just for your information:

http://www.squeezenetwork.com/user/account/lastfm shows me the delete checkbox with my existing Last.fm account, and username and password fields below that. These two fields are pre-set with my SqueezeNetwork account details. I assume my browser did that, given the domain name of the site, and the name or id of the HTML input fields. The same effect on, for example, the Live365 settings page.

To avoid confusion, it might be nice to give the Last.fm account inputs a different id or name, to avoid the browser filling in irrelevant details? Or: maybe some labels like "delete" and "Add new account" would help people.

(The above applies to the version without the "authorise" link, as I'm not in the UK, US or Germany.)

    This is a fantastic development!

    A few thoughts/suggestions:

    * under "Start a station" it'd be good to be able to play both global and user tag radio, for example lastfm://usertags/smc2911/trip-hop and lastfm://globaltags/trip-hop

    * it'd be good to be able to enter someone's user name directly and get their loved/recommended etc as well as being able to browse via friends and neighbours

    * it'd be good to be able to play group radio

    * more generally, it'd be good to be able to cut & paste any lastfm radio link

Looking forward it appearing in SC too...

    I could add a user's top tags under a user's menu.

I don't really agree, if you feel the need to do this why not just add
them as a friend? I don't want to clutter things up with a search
form most people will never use.

No API for this, but will add it as soon as there is one.

Sure, you can add a manual favorite URL as lfm://...
