    Slimserver 7.0.1 MySQL access

I installed slimserver 7.0.1 and now I cannot access mysql database. This was not aproblem in the previous version of the slimserver (username: slimserver password empty or slimserver, port 9092, pointing to the IP address of the computer that hosts the slimserver). Could somebody tell me what am I missing? Thank you.

As SlimServer is now called SqueezeCenter I assume the user ID has changed too.

Are you doing this from a different machine?

By default, SC's invocation of mysql binds to 127.0.0.1, not '*' (INADDR_ANY), so only connections from localhost are allowed.

Shall I comment the bind-address line from the conf file?

    If you mean my.cnf, yes.

(I'm just lazy and run my own install of mysql, since I need it for other things anyway.)

or, since you are messing with MySQL, you probably have MySQL Administrator, so go to startup variables->advanced and untick 'Bind to Address ...'
