    SqueezeBox Controller (Duet) Battery Life

Does anybody think the battery life of the SqueezeBox Controller is too short?
I think it is, when using the controller intensively it only last for a few hours...

    Best regards,

    Dennis.

If I use it pretty much constantly it lasts about 4-5 hours. But then that isn't the way that I use it normally. If I am carrying it round the house with me, queuing up albums and changing radio stations regualarly then it lasts a day and a half.

Most of the time however I don't play with it that much and the battery has only dropped to 75% by the end of the day. So battery life is fine for my usage.

I certainly wouldn't want a larger battery in it, I like the size of the Controller as it is.

Make sure you have power settings set correctly, they seem to have been
reset for some people to disable the important power management.

    Settings->Advanced->Factory Test->Power Management:

Sleep Timeout: 60 (not sure about the default for this actually)
Suspend Timeout:3600 (again, I may have tweaked mine)
    Suspend Enabled: CHECKED
    Suspend Wake: UNCHECKED
    Wireless Power Save: CHECKED

I may file a bug suggesting that a future firmware update reset all of these
values because there are so many people whose settings seem to have been set
incorrectly (I know mine were at one point).

Wireless power save was definitely unchecked for me when I first installed my Duet.

See post #7 and #10 in this thread

    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46508

    Key points
the wireless power save mode is dynamically enabled/disabled while the Controller is communicating with SqueezeCenter
If you enable "Suspend wake" then your Controller will automatically wake up from suspend mode after a few seconds, this is used for testing the suspend-resume cycle.
