    Squeezebox alarm

hi - brand new Sqeezebox user here. I've got a question about the alarm
function. From the discussion archive I found the following:

That's true, but the manual is missing the relevant information, and
for a newcomer your advice is not clear enough.

More precise (and I'm not sure that I've got it completely right yet) is:

Turn on the Squeezebox. Use the Up and Down keys (I'm not sure if the
Left key is ever needed) until the display shows "Settings". Press
the Right key, and you get to a choice of 11 setting items. I think
you will be started off in Alarm Clock (if not, use Up and Down to
reach it), press the Right key again, and you get a option to set
    Alarm settings, and so on.

Other items of the 11 include Signal Strength, Player Information,
    Server Information.

    ========================

I found the alarm setting on the Squeezebox device itself, but unlike the
configuration menus on the Squeezebox, I was never able to "leave" the
display when setting the alarm. I could get to this display option, I
could change the time and toggle AM/PM, but could not "right arrow" beyond
this point. After about 30 seconds this display would then revert back to
the normal status display, but nothing starts playing at the alarm time.

I tried to find something in the SlimServer software, v5.1, dealing with
alarms but couldn't find anything in the interface. What am I
    overlooking?

    thanks for helping another newbie.

    cheers.kah

Set the alarm time, press LEFT arrow to back out and save the time.
Press DOWN, then RIGHT to select the playlist.
Press LEFT to go back, DOWN and RIGHT to select alarm volume (UP/DOWN moves the
bar), then LEFT to save the volume level.
Press DOWN, you will then see the option for turning alarm on and off. Press
    RIGHT to toggle on/off.

    hope that helps.
