    Live365 Scrobbling/Last.fm

Has anyone had success with Live365 or any internet radio streams scrobbling to last.fm?

  2. #2
I\'ve tested in the past scrobbling Pandora tracks to Last.fm and it scrobbled succesfully. When there was the new beta Squeezenetwork, some internet radio would scrobble, but it really depends on the radio station, since in order to scrobble the radio stations, they radio stations have to send the song information in a specific way so that it can be identified for scrobbling to Last.fm.

For me, Internet radio stations would sometimes scrobble and sometimes not, but that was back when the beta Squeezenetwork was used, I haven\'t checked lately if it has improved.

Saying that, if I remember correctly there are 4 ways to scrobble music to Last.fm, depending on the player source:

    - User tracks (the ones you play normally from your PC).
    - Last.fm radio tracks (the ones you play when listening to Last.fm radio stations)
    - Personalized radio (like Pandora and Slacker)
    - General internet radio (like Live365 and other internet radio stations)

User tracks and Last.fm radio are scrobbled in a \'normal\' way, meaning that when you scrobble, you can see the tracks instantly on your Recently Played tracks on your Last.fm home page profile.

Personalized radio when scrobbled, don\'t show up instantly on the Recently Played tracks, they show up some hours later on the Detailed tracks view I think (don\'t remember exactly the place right now).

As for General Internet Radio scrobbling, I\'m not really sure where and when they appear, I guess the same as Personalized radio.

As I understand it, if an internet radio scrobbles correctly, a track will appear as "now playing" on the top of your last.fm page while playing, but then will disappear from your recently played list. It should, however, make its way into your charts.

Last.fm Scrobbling from Internet Radio and Pandora

I have not been successful too!

I contacted them, see what I got:

    "Hi,

We currently do not support this, but you can check out build.last.fm for
    other third party plugins.

It's definitely not something the last.fm team could help you out with, more of a SqueezeNetwork question. andyg might have some ideas.

Has the last.fm functionality of the "New" Squeezenetwork changed recently? I'm asking because before the 17th everything seemed to be working fine with Live365. Today when I looked in my last.fm profile the last tracks listed in the Charts Tab/Recent Tracks are dated 03/17. I've been playing the same Live365 and Slacker stations for the past couple days, but the last.fm pages no longer get updated. Last week I could see what was playing in my SB3 via the "Now Playing" feature in the last.fm profile page, but today I can't seem to get this to work. The charts also listed all the recently played songs from a Live365 and Slacker stations. I noticed that in the botton right of the SN that the releases appear to have changed. As of 03/16/08 (sv) r2951/r17896 and today 03/19/08 (sv) r2979/r17921. Did something related to last.fm changed? I know that radio stations scrobbling is not supported, but what exactly are the last.fm functions that are supported/visible via the last.fm Web UI and via the SqueezeNetwork Web UI? .

    Thanks...

Scrobbling should still be working fine, even radio scrobbling.

Scrobbling should still be working fine, even radio scrobbling.
Andy, the issues I'm talking about are using the SB3 connected directly to the SqueezeNetwork not SqueezeCenter. Are we in the same page?

    Thanks

Yep, I'm scrobbling from SN right now while listening to an mp3 radio stream.

Hmmm, I'm listening to Live365 Soft Jazz FM. The file format is MP3 with a Bitrate 56kbps (VBR). I wait for a new song and until the Name and Artist of the track is displayed. I connect to the SquezeNetwork Web UI and see:
    Soft Jazz FM
Neon Nights by Adrian Conington from Solsonata

I then go to the last.fm Web UI (My Profile Page/Chart Tab) Click Show: Recent Tracks... Every thing is from 03/17. There is no "Now Playing" to show me that the SB3 is connected.

I have entered my user ID in the last.fm tab of SN and under the Player setting tab for last.fm I have enable audioscrobbler with my user id. What Am I missing?

    Thanks again...

Edit: One more thing... There is no way for me to "Love" the song either from the SB3 or the SN Web UI.
