    I didn't have to take the battery out - just held down the "house"-power button until it shut down. To be clear the 20 times when it didn't work were prior to getting the new SC7 build. After the sc7 build download and rebooting it updated fine the first time.

    Just tried putting today's Jive (yesterday's was cunningly hidden, to my eyes at least) onto an SD card to upgrade, but I get 'Upgrade failed'.

    Think I managed to get it to an earlier firmware, but it was still borked. Upgrading SC to the latest nightly worked. Odd

    Not odd, upgrading SqueezeCenter was the fix that is needed follow a change that was made earlier in the week. Sorry for any inconvenience.
