    "Clear and Rescan" not clearing?

I had a song (songA) on my filesystem that was a duplicate of another song (songB) in a different folder on my filesystem. The id3 genre for songA was set to '1', so I could browse to it in the web interface by going to: Music Folders -> Genres -> 1 -> Ozzy Osbourne -> Miscellaneous.

Since I had the same song properly stored elsewhere as songB, I deleted songA. Then I did a "Clear and Rescan" of my library expecting songA's listing to be removed from SqueezeCenter. However, after the scan completed, Genre '1' is still listed under Genres even though there are no more songs with this id3 genre tag. Furthermore, the first time after doing the "Clear and Rescan", clicking on the '1' genre shows me 'Ozzy Osbourne' and allows me to drill down to the "song", but of course, I can't play it. ;-)

Interestingly enough, after drilling down to it once and navigating back up to the top, subsequent navigations into Genre -> 1 don't show any sub-sections and it stops here.

Is the "Clear and Rescan" not properly clearing all song information from the database before populating it again from the scan?

    I'm using the following:
    SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 15928 - Red Hat - EN - utf8 (installed via yum repo)
    Fedora 7

I guess no one else is experiencing this behavior? Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone give me some pointers for some things I should look at to debug/fix this problem?

    Thanks,

Could this possibly have anything to do with MusicIP having it's own cache of song information? I notice that squeezecenter gets song info from MusicIP as one of the scan stages. Could this be where my "stale" data is coming from? If so, how can I resolve it?

use the MusicIP interface to 'refresh songs', either from their own
application or the web api at http://musicipserverIP:10002/server

If you are using MusicIP I'm blanking out the SC music folder setting. It makes the scanning go quicker (it was effectively scanning twice before). I left in the playlist folder, though.

It appears that worked! Any chance of having the "clear and rescan" operation doing a MusicIP refresh automatically?

I don't think that bug's describing quite the same thing as it focuses on wanting a scheduler for the MusicIP scan process. I, on the other hand, just want a regular "clear and rescan" from squeezecenter to first execute a MusicIP rescan operation, if it's installed. I don't need the scheduler.

It seems to me that you re asking is for the scan to force musicIP to
refresh its database as part of the clear/rescan, which is exactly
what this bug (and related thread) talks about as part of the scheduler.

OK, cool. As long as it gets fixed in the mix I guess. I just figured that a fix for this specific issue would be easier than having all the extra development overhead of adding a scheduler.
