Hi All,
Due to some new user ignorance on my part I let my original post go off topic so I thought Id start this to get some help share info with other squeezebox owners using a PSP as a remote.
I can connect to the internet on my PSP via my wireless network. I cannot get the slimserver interface to show up on the ip address that works on the other machines on my network i.e. http://192.168.0.8:9000/
Is there an issue with numerical ip addresses on the PSP? I was given this link http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35993 for a psp specific skin so Im thinking I must be making a basic error.
Regards
JIm

What's your PSP's IP configuration? What error do you get when accessing
this page? And what SlimServer version are you using?

DNS should not be involved if you enter the IP address. Can you
doublecheck you entered the url correctly? And do you have networking
connectivity?

Could it be possible that the PSP has problems with the port designation? Can it connect to websites not running on the default port 80 or 443?

Hi Thanks for the suggestion.
I am not sure of how to check if the psp will connect to a site not using port 80 or 443.
If I accessed a java web application running on apache tomcat the standard port would be 8080 for the application. Is there another way I could check this?

Hi Thanks for the reply.
This guy here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYiQ4Fq46Ns is streaming radio from the squeezebox. The interesting thing is that he briefly shows the IP address of his slimserver and its running on http://192.168.0.8:9000/ so I know with his psp its possible to get the connection to the standard ip and port number.
Cant work this out although as there is a PSP skin it must be possible to control slimserver...
I think there is a big demand for gui wireless control of the squeezebox maybe it would be good to have a specific forum for these devices.
Cheers
Jim
