    FLAC issues still

    Hi,

Been struggling with FLAC playback and would really like to know if its just
me as its still happenning and I dont see comments from anyone else.

Just downloaded the latest nightly on win 2k, at work so tried on my laptop,
P3 something, 512M RAM, if I try to play a FLAC using winamp as a client it
doesnt play and the frame top right timesout.

Slim takes around 75% of the cpu and doesnt return to normal unless I clear
    the playlist.

Previous releases at home on a P4 512M behave the same with squeezeboxes
    attached.

WAV's are fine (albeit with older releases with a click between tracks).

Tried a couple of different tools to rip to FLAC, tried direct rip from cd
and encode from hard drive but I will happily accept being told I am doing
something wrong if someone could point me in the right direction.

    Thanks
    Andy

FLAC has been working fine for me here.

What tools are you using? I'd recommend EAC + flac.exe

Can you run the server with --d_source and send some output to me off list?

    Thanks.

<iNoah> I think someone should create a magazine for computer peripherals, called Card & Driver
