I think I am hearing things

Wow, so you have proven that the channels are reversed on the digital
    output?

Hope they fix that one quick.

Ok I was wondering if things sounded reverse through the Squeezebox.
And today in my truck I was listening to a song that has a piano intro
on the left speaker as hear through my car speakers and home cd
player. Also when I play the flac encoded version of this song on my
computer it plays through the left speaker.

However when I play the exact same FLAC file through the squeezebox
through the same reciever tested earlier the sound comes from the right
speaker. I have not identified other music yet with a distinct left or
right track to test with. Will look for some.

    My setup is as follows,
Slimserver nightly from 01-04-2004 with firmaware version v5

Test the squeezebox with my reciever via toslink digital connection,
also tested it via headphones connected directly to the squeezebox with
    the same results.

    Any ideas?

Well it appears to NOT just be the digital output, but also atleast the
headphone output too. Have not tested the RCA analog outputs.

I think I am hearing things

Hmm. Last night I was doing an A/B test between my CD player and my SB
to see if I could hear the difference between their DACs (couldn't really,
although I was hampered by the fact that even with the SB at full volume,
the CD player's signal was louder, so it wasn't a good A/B comparison). One
of the first things I noticed was that the SB's left/right output was the
opposite of my CD player. I used my computer to verify that my CD player was
correct, and flipped the RCA outputs on my SB. I figured I had gotten them
reversed when I plugged in the SB the first time.

I just double-checked, though, and if we're still going with the Red RCA
jack being the Right audio channel, then the analog outputs are indeed
    reversed on the SB.

    Can anyone else confirm?

Oh, and shouldn't the SB at full volume produce the same analog signal
strength as the line-out signal from my CD player, which was playing the
disc from which I ripped the audio stream that I was playing, unaltered,
    though the SB?

    Mark
