Another Day, Another problem: My powered-off screensaver has disappeared

When I set up my SB3 several months ago I chose the RSS News Ticker as my powered off screensaver. It was from that that I learnt that Sadam Hussein had been executed.

Now, my SB is dark. When I switch my SB on from the remote it seems to play normally, and Internet radio seems to work, but the news ticker is gone.

When I decided to look into this, I selected the Date and Time Screensaver, thinking that it was bound to work as it doesn't depend on anything 'out there', but no joy, my SB is still dark when I'm not using it.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Did you accidentally push the "brightness" button on the remote?

Go to Player Settings / Display and check the setting for "Brightness when off" - change it to 2, press Change. Does that sort the problem?

Thank you very much, siduhe, that fixed it. And mherger, God knows. anything can happen when I slump in front to my SB after a half a bottle of wine and a hard day. Once again, I am dazzled by the helpfulness of these forums

But perhaps the original title was a little harsh considering the
cause was human error - don't you think?!
