Thanks for responding...

I'm using the following directory.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Music


which is the same as for 5.0.1 Interesting, may not
be relevant, but when I reinstall 5.0.1 it retains the
original directory settings but when I install 5.0.3
it defaults to iTunes (yes I do have the itunes xml in
that directory).

I can recreate this over and over again, simply
uninstall 5.0.1 and install 5.0.3 and back to 5.0.1.
5.0.3 doesn't work, 5.0.1 does every time.

Thoughts....is there any logging that I can turn on to
help debug?

....the slimsvc will not work on either version though!
