I doubt it's possible without some soldering: as I remember removing the
text display was a "lossy" process, cutting off some pins.

You would also need to move the IR sensor, which has a 3-pin ribbon cable soldered to the main board.

SB version 1 - can i swap graphics board?

I have 2 version 1 SBs, one is wireless and without the graphic upgrade, and
the second is wired and with the graphic upgrade. Is it possible to swap the
displays on these two units? Is there a link from the old upgrade kit that
would show me the steps to do this?

ah, i thought it would be a simpler swap - thanks anyway. probably simpler
to just get the wired box working wirelessly.

Since Sean didn't mention this it's probably not possible, but it seems it should be straightforward to move the wireless card to the box you want to be wireless.

I thought of that, but the problem is the SMA antenna connector is also soldered to the board and is extremely difficult to remove.
