    Obtaining total number of tracks

    Hi Andreas,

Hmm.. When I try and view http://192.168.0.2:9000/xml/browse.xml I get an
    error which says:

"The XML page cannot be displayed. Cannot view XML input using style sheet.
Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button".

    It goes on to state:

"A name was started with an invalid character. Error processing resource
    http://192.168.0.2:9000/xml/html/slimserver_xml.dtd line 426, Position 11"

So, no go on that front.

However, I just love the PHP class you are using at http://simply.nu -
exactly the type of thing I'm looking to do (except to integrate it in an
existing page and display total track count). Any chance you could share or
send me the class? I'm sure many others would be interested, also.

Finally, I've played around with the web interface more than the CLI. Any
ideas how I would obtain the total track count using the CLI - and not just
the tracks within the current playlist?

    Ian

    <snip>

This URL will, among other things, give you the total songs/artists/albums!
    http://slimserver:9000/xml/browse.xml

Otherwise you can use the CLI to get/put information to/from the slimserver.
I found a PHP class that did that which I'm using at http://simply.nu
    temporarily
    just for fun...

It's Internet Explorer who is unable to interpret it. This does not mean
it's useless. Open up that file in notepad. You'll find what you're
looking for almost at the beginning of the file.
