Kevin and company...

Here is what seems to be happening when attempting to use version 5 of the
software on my OS X (10.2.6).

After what appears to be a successful install, when attempting to access the
server via the web interface, the page begins to load. I get the header
stuff as I can see the title of the page (SlimServer) in the title bar of
the window. You can also see that the url is a frameset as you can see the
left side begin to draw (I'm using the Fishbone skin). The second side
(right side) seems to be challenged... Nothing comes in. At this point the
progress indicator in the url field (I'm using Safari 1.0) stalls at about
the one-third mark.

About 20-30 seconds go by then ultimately I got a time out error.

I did notice when running this with the Process Viewer running that the perl
process hits about 60% CPU then drops to zero... Shortly after that I get
the time out.

After downgrading the 4.2.6 all works fine. In fact, I don't see any perl
CPU % change at all when using 4.2.6.

I have been monitoring the discussion group for the last couple of days and
there seems to be a bunch of OS X, version 5 challenges out there. Each of
the messages seem to discuss time outs, server not responding, etc. Seems to
me (but then what do I know) there is some common theme here.

Incidentally, I did try restarting everything... Even clearing the browser
cache. It is interesting after a restart, the url seems to want to begin
loading right away, then pauses (stalls), then results in a timeout. After a
fresh restart, I briefly get the Genres listing in the left frame, then it
seems to refresh, yet never come back. Someone else in this thread mentioned
a similar behavior (though with playlists).

Kevin, you had asked if I can run the server with --d_http. Gimme some
training wheels (i.e. Help) and I will try that. I'm a terminal neophyte.
Also, where can I find the log?

I'm more than happy to assist in troubleshooting this. It is 100% repeatble.

Thanks in advance...
