well, sort of a review:

He mentions streaming over the WAN. One of the big changes with
squeezebox is that we're now using a TCP-based protocol to talk to the
server, and using HTTP requests to stream data down to the client.
What this means is that performance over long distance links is much
better than with our original protocol.

We were streaming 320kbps from a linux server at the office, up a T1
link to a colocation facility in Fremont, across the internet to Pac
Bell, down a DSL line, through an Airport Extreme base station, and
across the house wirelessly to the squeezebox. Such fun.

What OS is the squeezebox's using internally and what type of CPU is it?

nice. is the mpeg audio decoding is now done in software as well?

Does the D/A converter in the Squeezebox produce higher quality audio than
the Slimp3? Is it comparable or better than some so-called competetive erm
Beachy products?

BTW is the Slimp3 product line being retained or is it superceeded?
