I agree with Primus Sucks, the web interface is very poorly lacking. And I'm not particularly in keeping right up to date with the forum every day, I want to look up the forum every now and then and see if there's anything I can help out with and anything I can learn. I'm not particularly interested in the ins and outs of various flavours of Linux and Perl, and I can't help with any Mac issues. With a web board I can skip these threads, with the email digest I can't.

An email subscription list looks antiquated, feels antiquated and reminds me of BBS systems and ftp browsing of the internet before the www arrived. Surely there must be a solution that provides a solution for both. the current web back end is hideous, and the search is a joke. What's the point of only being able to search one month, we just end up with the same questions being asked over and over again as new users give up on the search. 2/10.

All of the people some of the time...

The point about getting the posts by email is that it puts power in the
hands of the user, where it belongs. You can use rules and/or filters to
sort, select, group and colour your email anywhichway you like. You have
no control over the web interface. I appreciate that everyone has
different tastes, but I can't help feeling that those who prefer the web
interface need to have an epiphany with their email software.
