    True Type fonts

I read a review for the SB3, which said that it supports true type fonts. I did not think this was the case. Is it true and if it is, how do you change them/add new ones?

it supports the use of a couple truetype fonts for unicode handling.
    CODE2000.TTF for one.

There is also a utility to convert Truetype fonts to the font format
    used for slimserver.
The SBG version of the software is here:

the SB2 version, I think, was posted here a while back. it is called
    TTF2SB2.EXE
    -kdf

    http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?UnicodeFonts

Has the list and links. You only need one.

Ok, i have converted some true type fonts to unicode ones, but in slimserver under player settings > display > font, i still only have the option for Light/standard/full?

Also, it would seem that putting the unicode font BMP's in the graphics folder causes Slimserver to crash when it starts :/

    No conversion is necessary.

All you need to do is drop one of the .TTF files in the Graphics directory.

The fonts on the settings page are sizes - and have nothing to do with the
Unicode/TTF setup. I'll make this more clear in a future version.

What version of the server are you running right now?

6.5 is broken because of an upgrade that hasn't been done on Windows yet.

I have been using a build of 6.5b1 from a few days ago because of some updates to the CUE file handling (which is completely broken in 6.2.2). Is that the cause of the crashes then?

As for the fonts, i have put both unicode and .TTF files in the graphics folder, how do i use them then? i cant see the option anywhere.

There are two separate things here:

    1) Use of TTF to support unicode characters - in this case put one of the 3 TTF files into the Graphics directory. As per http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?UnicodeFonts These are used as the normal font for unicode characters [i.e. no more font options show up, its just that uncode characters appear]

    2) Adding additional font options for normal latin characters. In this case bmp files are used and should be put in the graphics directory. These can be created from TTF files using the converter referenced above. A TTF file is not needed in the graphics directory when doing this.

If you see any crashes could you post the error message [on windows I think you need to look in the even viewer. Otherwise start the server from the command line and post what it says]

    Antialiasing

I couldn't find any references to ttf2sb2.exe on this forum or in Google.

I really want to do font antialiasing on the SB2 display--I think it'd look cool (of course it probably would only work the best at a full intensity screen). Perhaps with 2bpp it really wouldn't be as good as I imagine, but I'd like to try. I thought I saw a reference to TrueType being a way to achieve that.
