Squeezebox 3 (I have two of them, other in bedroom). This one is connected to my KEF 105.4 speakers, through an old Marantz amp.

I love me some KCRW, simply the best radio station. If I ever leave LA I will still listen daily as it is just that good.

    A system for a friend...

a friend asked me for advice putting a system together that sounds clean and isn't too expensive. i had some stuff around, and this is what i built for her...

it sounds annoyingly good :-) and very simple... consists of old SB3, connected via toslink to a NAD D7050, which acts as a DAC and amplifier and a crossover... i set the crossover frequency to 70Hz. the speakers are Totem Dreamcatchers, the bit of a dark blob on the right is a Velodyne Minivee sub set to 20% volume. i am now listening to jazz, and i have to say, this little setup is amazingly capable.

and of course, all hail SB3...

the one thing i am not sure of it'll work is to use spotify off mysb.com, can't try it until someone in Logitech links the SB3 to the new owner...

Well done on those speakers. Your design or a kit? If so do you have more info on them?

My design, Scan-Speak drivers (D3004/660000, 18W/8531G00 and 2x 26W/8867T00) in a closed box. It Is an active setup with filtering done in DSP (MiniSharc) and an amplifier (Hypex UCD180HG) per driver. Electronics also DIY.
