    IR Blasting test results

    Hi all

A new version (1.9) of the plugin is available here:

    www(dot)gwendesign(dot)com/slimserver/dev_hard_and_software.htm#irblaster

    Added features:
    - Add a new command before or after an existing one
    - Webpage for EN skin included
    - Support for remotes with 48 bit codes, i.e. Technics (needs firmware >= 22)

Gerd: Could you please try your Technics CD player remote again. The change made in the firmware should fix this type of remotes.

    Thanks
    Felix

I tried again, but it still doesn't work :-(. I made sure, that
Firmware 22, the latest build (4336) and the new version of your
plugin where used. But no reaction on the CD player (or the receiver,
trying some other remotes configurations). Other ideas?

    Gerd

    hey Felix,

Thanks for the EN skin version. One little change and it can fit
better with any skin that falls back to it.

Try this for the header section:

    <head>
    [% PROCESS standardheader.html pagetitle='IRBlastTest' %]
    </head>

This will then load the skins css and let TT put in the title tags, and
    other META info.

    IR Blasting test results

    Hi all

Gerd: It looks like the firmware change needed for Technics remotes didn't make it into version 22 (trunk 4338). I need to confirm with Dean, but checking the IR blaster output with my oscilloscope suggests the change isn't in. Sorry for bothering you.

KDF: Did you mean 'pageheader.html'? I couldn't find any 'standardheader.html' files on my SlimServer installation.

standardheader.html is part of the 6.2 nightly builds. Its meant as a
Template Toolkit resource and would only be found in the EN skin. It
only contains the meta and link info required to be in the <head> tags
for slimserver pages, whereas pageheader.html contains the top section
    of html design.

I may have missed this one being reported, but when I set volume_up to
something (doesn't seem to matter what) and I use the volume control on
the slim remote, then teh volume instantly jumps to 40 (display shows
    this, and audio does it)

    Hi all

kdf: Thanks for clarification about standardheader.html. I'll look into it again.

The volume going to the maximum is by design as soon as you select something for volume_up and/or volume_down. The idea is that the volume is then only controlled via the connected amplifier.

Gerd: Dean confirmed that firmware v22 does not yet contain the change for Technics remotes. Sorry about the noise.

    IR Blasting test results

    Hi all

Latest IR-Blaster plugin (v2.3) is here:

    www(dot)gwendesign(dot)com/slimserver/dev_hard_and_software.htm#irblaster

    News:
    - Added webpage to Player Settings (needs tweaking of Setup.pm)
    - Fallback solution if Setup.pm isn't tweaked
    - Use of standardheader.html in EN skin (thanks kdf)
    - Use of initPlugin() and shutdownPlugin()
    - Put strings into string table
    - Read LIRC files with one or more remote descriptions
    - Renaming from IR BlastTest to IR-Blaster

kdf: Will addPlayerChild() go into Setup.pm?

    Enjoy
    Felix

P.S. Support for 48bit remotes (i.e. Technics) should be in firmware v23

    Felix,

I just realised that I gave you some incomplete instructions regarding the player settings tab. The function, setupGroup is automatically grabbed by the server as a server settings->plugins group so leaving it like that comes up with a blank group in the plugins page. Changing to setupPrefs and calling that from addGroups will clear things up.

We'll also need to find a way to create the sibling bar to keep the other tabs visible after loading the ir blaster index page. I am not really sure what the best way to approch this might be.
